Brass, Cat, The Rest of the Week
Dec. 13th, 2007 11:02 amPlayed Brass last night, as planned. I'm very glad that we'd scheduled a date for it, because we started at 6.30 on the dot as planned, finished a rules teach at 7.15 (which other people said was really good, so I'm happy I sat down and figured out how the game worked, not just what the rules were), and then played until a bit after 10.30.
I would have been late getting home if Chris weren't at EndGame to give me a ride; as was, I called ahead so that Kimberly could feed the diabetic cat.
It's a pretty good game, though more thoughtful and longer than I generally like for my gaming. We really had to think a lot. A few times I managed to figure out a few turns ahead, only to have them messed up by other players, forcing me to start again.
I'm actually pretty eager to play it again, despite the length/thoughtfulness issues.
The diabetic cat thing is going OK. Four shots in, that's a lot less stressful.
She's still mostly hiding, and thus eating and drinking less than I'd like, as she only does when I leave the room. Hopefully she'll be a little bit more friendly and less scared ... about when my dad picks her up next week.
My most tiring things for the week are not out of the way, I just need to figure out how to juggle my Friday night theatre with my Saturday running-a-game. I was kinda sorta hoping that there'd be some flakage for Saturday, at which time I'd just declare we were playing Descent, but it looks like I'm running.
I probably just need to carve out an hour or a little more on Friday night to prepare Savage Tide, and I should have close to that between dinner and the theatre.
