Well, the intermittent pain I've been having was largely absent this weekend, though I wonder if I've just gotten used to it. However, the fatigue has continued to be very deep. I slept for about 10 hours Saturday night, then napped an hour or two Sunday, then slept for 8.5 hours or so last night, and I still feel like I'm struggling to keep my eyes open and my thoughts coherent.

So, I was a good boy and made an appointment to see a NP over at my family practice on Wednesday (I could have gotten an appointment with the actual doctor on Friday, but I really wasn't impressed with her analytical ability last time, and so preferred to see someone else, let alone that it was less wait). I feel like I've got strong incentive not to go see the doctor because the pain is so intermittent, and they were so useless last time, but I'm considering it a scientific experiment. If they want to run tests, fine, but beyond that I want some antibiotics to see if this problem gets better a second time right after the application of antibiotics, which would start to be some convincing evidence to a bacterial cause.

Hope this helps and you feel better!

Keep in mind that there are many variables involved... like the unfortunate fact that some doctors are useless while others are good. It sounds like you've had more encounters with the former, alas. Hopefully this doctor will keep an open mind and be willing to consider numerous possible causes, and work with you to find a solution!
