Lake Temescal & Liff
Jun. 4th, 2012 10:32 pmBiked up to Lake Temescal today after work. It's just a bit more than 3 miles above our house ... but the problem is the above since it's a couple of hundred feet up. There's actually only a little bit of road that I have real trouble with, where it gets very steep passing under 13. But that leaves me tired for the final approach to Temescal. So, as usual today I walked part of that route under 13, then really panted heading up the road beyond that.
It was chilly up at the park and a little windy ... but that's why I opted to go that direction when I wanted to ride tonight, as opposed to heading toward the Bay would have been much, much colder & windier. I enjoyed hanging out at the lake for a bit, reading my current Doctor Who novel. After a few chapters, I headed home.
I think Lake Temescal would be a good staging point for heading back further into the hills than I've been able to previously. I'm going to probably take a few more runs at it in coming weeks, with the goal of moving onward and upward from there next time I really have a day free.
Everything else has returned to normal over the last few days.
I heard from Melody that Tai Chi started eating with gusto when he got home and didn't have the temptation of foreign (and apparently allergenic) cat food.
Saturday I started part 3.5 of my current Pathfinder campaign. That's putting us toward the half-way point ... at least of the published modules; I may carry on a bit more.
Today I got back to work and am putting the final touches on our first GameCenter-enabled iOS game, which is Money (as it's our most popular). Just leaderboards & achievements for now, but add that on to elo rankings and some other enhancements, and I think it'll be a very nice new revision of the game (good enough to call 2.0).
And this coming weekend should be slightly busy, as we're heading down south to celebrate my brother Rob's graduation.
