The Joys of Sickness
Apr. 23rd, 2003 12:15 pmI've been feeling a decent amount better for a couple of days now. Monday morning I still felt like I had zero energy, but that evaporated as I kicked into the work day and hasn't really come back yet.
I really hadn't realized how run down I was feeling thanks to my two-week past cold. It was all I could do to get 7 or 8 hours of work in during a day last week, and after that I just collapsed. (If you note the fact that I've read 4 or 5 books, let alone about a hundred comics in the last two and a half weeks, that's why. I've also played a game called Poseidon quite a bit.)
Now, I can still feel the faintest edge of that fatigue, but for the most part I'm feeling energetic again, and that's so much better. Pulling out the trash & recycling on Monday actually wasn't a chore, and I did a bit of weeding while I was at it (because the weeds were blocking where the trash can was supposed to go, damn them).
Since then I've put maybe four hours or five hours of programming into my Galactic Emperor: Hegemony during a couple of late evening runs. I'm building "Advance Orders", the last major system that I outlined when Skotos acquired the game about a year ago. After that it'll be a bunch of minor issues & cleanup, and then I can officially announce version 1.1 of the game, which is nice.
And I'm still getting reading in. Currently: rereading Age of Bronze, a great comic about the Trojan War, thanks to renewed interest brought on by USA's Helen of Troy movie; and reading for the first time The Big Nowhere, a classic police procedural novel. And
webmacher just brought me an intriguing looking political book called Blinded by the Right which I'm going to get into soon (though I should really finish The Big Nowhere soon, since it's a big, thick book with multiple points of view, and I don't want to lose track, but BbtR is calling to me).
Whew. Too much to do, not even time, but I have energy again.
