Cat Update

shannon_aSo Cobweb really seems to be doing better since we put her on 2x day anti-nausea + 1x day acid control. She's been doing all kinds of things that we haven't been seeing for a while, like biting food (not just licking it), drinking water in my office, seeking out food on her own, whining for food, and even eating dry food. Especially with the dry food eating this afternoon, I really feel that she's not just on the mend, but approaching stable.
Ah, so Munchkin. We took her to the vet today because she again refused treats this morning. Our vet says that Munchkin's right kidney seems inflamed. We had to have a blood panel done on her, which was my guess, but which is slightly expensive. We should have the results tomorrow, and hopefully know what to do to get her back on the path to stability. Also, poor cat is down to 5.5#, from 8# when she last had an appointment, in 2008.
And in the meantime, our doc says we should give her subcutaneous fluids too tonight, since she's having troubles retaining water.
Agh. So, yes, giving fluids to TWO cats tonight.
I'm hoping Munchkin will tolerate it well. I can see her not even noticing and I can see her totally freaking out and tearing my arm apart.
