Stuff to Do
Feb. 3rd, 2012 11:37 pmI'm very happy to discover that I have a new RPG company history in process. It's on Midkemia Press. Once more I had planned it as a short "mini-history", but without 59 other histories to work on at the same time, I decide to go ahead and write it full length. I'd been turning around the main ideas in my head for a week, but today I finally sat down with interviews, web sites, and the wayback machine and got the majority of my info. I've plotted out the whole article, and it looks like a fair amount of work. Dunno how I've written 61 of these.
Hoping to get a draft by the weekend, or shortly thereafter, so that I can send a copy off for comment and do a final draft before Hawaii.
Other projects have been going pretty well:
I am getting close to done on Web of Power Card Game: The Duel for Skotos. My main push at this point is AI. I hope to finalize it in a week or two. (Probably two.)
I've also managed to get into a pattern of actually getting stuff done for my free-time iOS project: Eric Vogel's Armorica. I probably should have known better than taking it on, as I've always found it hard to do similar work in my free-time as I do in my work-time. But, since the start of the year I've figured out how to do little bite-sized bits 2 or 3 times a week. I've also got a list of little bite-sized bits, which I'm slowly whittling away at. I hope to have the whole UI and game system this month or next (most of which is already done) and then the AI will probably take some serious work after that.
(Always the AI!)
Got a few future projects that I'm thinking about: maybe an RPG book; maybe a few books on board game. I'll see what sparks most when Armorica is done. I'm apparently now far enough away from finishing Designers & Dragons (10 months ago or so) that my brain can breathe again!
For now, though, I should probably sit down and finish my adventure prep for tomorrow's KingMaker session.
