The sun is finally peeking its head out this afternoon, but the last week has generally been cool, windy, gray, and depressing. Bleh. Don't want another summer like last "summer".
So it's been a hectic week around the house, because our team of builders were here Monday-Thursday doing their last major project: replacing the deck outside of Kimberly's office.
Part of the hectic was because we had to keep the cats locked up while the builders were working. The first day they were in and out of the house quite a bit and today the doors to both Kimberly's office and the (new) deck ended up open at one point, so it's probably good that we had locked-up cats.
But we also had Kimberly and I both working in offices that felt claustrophobic, and the cats were sometimes acting pretty unhappy (because of both the shut-upping and the loud construction sounds), and a bunch of rooms smelled much more like cats and like litter than they usually do.
'Tis done now. The deck looks very nice. A billion times better than the rickety old deck. There's some weatherproofing to be done next week, but that should just take a fraction of a day.
I'm feeling pretty strung out, so apparently early construction awakenings, days of power tools, and cloistered cats and offices have taken their toll.
