Garage Construction Begins

So, after a year of looking for people to work on our garage and then work with an architect on getting permits, today work on our garage has finally begun.
The first I saw, they were going at the roof with a pickaxe from below and a shovel (!) from above. Rather impressively, half an hour later, the whole front of the roof is gone.
I have some trepidation over this all getting done right now that it's begun and there's no turning back, but this builder that K. found was actually on the recommendation of a friend on a job that they'd been entirely happy with, so I'm sure it'll all go well.
And soon I shall have a place to put my outside tools and K. and I will have places to store our bikes without hauling them up the stairs in the house every *(*($#ing time.
Yay.
