The History Book: Week #21

So after a few weeks working on history articles that were less than challenging, this weekend I settled on White Wolf. Hoo boy.
The original piece was about 8000 words long, but it was also one of my original pieces, published over at RPGnet, and it was late enough in the book that it hadn't been updated when I was crashing toward the completion of the book the first time, back in 2007. In other words, it needed some expansion.
So over the course of the weekend I revised those 8000 words, filled the article with quotes, and wrote about 6000 more. I'm very pleased with both the revision and the expansion, and I think it paints a much more detailed and interesting picture of the company.
Though I got the main chunk of the WhitE Wolf article done, there's still some work to be done. I should write two or three boxes. I'm thinking about "Horror in the RPG Industry", "Magazine Histories: White Wolf", and "Mini-Histories: Malhavoc Press". The first two should be pretty easy. The last will take some additional research.
I also got a bit rushed at the end and I missed including a paragraph about Scion as well as denoted that at this year's GenCon, White Wolf most bizarrely decided not to sell product. I'll need to remember to put those in. Oh, and I should look at the forum thread from the original article posting to see if it had anything I should be thinking about.
I'll probably do that revision on some future week when I've done something light. And now that I've done White Wolf, I'm going to probably move on to Holistic Design and Atlas Games, which are connected to the Lion Rampant and White Wolf work I've done.
