The History Book: Week #14

Went after a medium-length RPG history this week: FGU. Not one of my favorite companies because of the crappy way they've treated their creators since they basically went out of business in 1988 (but held onto all their IP, pretty much in contradiction to what all the creators expected from their contracts).
That took about half my time, so I spent two more hours working on Wizards of the Coast. Got through a couple of pages on the drive to 4e, but when I was done, I decided that the latter half, from the a4venture announcement on, required more specificity about how they dicked around on an OGL/GSL. So that'll be next week, which will probably end up splitting the pre-4e stuff into two parts: the big picture moves toward it and the problems with licensing.
If I keep doing one more section a week on Wizards, I'll probably finish it in three more weeks: the licensing problems (next week, revising), 4e itself (the week after), and more general stuff in the recent years, like their lawsuits and electronic stuff (3rd week).
