The Cat News

Here's the good news: We took Cobweb into the vet today, and she's up to 10.8#! That's from a low of 8.2#, last fall, when she thought she was just about gone. That seems pretty definitive that the steroids we've been giving her over that time period have done the job.
Here's the bad news: Now that her weight is back up, we're going to try and wean her off of the wet food. Or, at least, off of the twice-a-day wet food. So starting today we omitted her evening feeding. Poor babe has been following us constantly around the house, wondering when we're going to remember to feed her.
We've going to be sharing some wet food around all the cats a few times a week to try and help the transition. The hope is, of course, that Cobweb'll be hungry enough to return to dry food eating, which she wasn't doing when she was very sick. We plan to weigh her in another month, to make sure that she's still eating enough to not be losing her weight. If she does lose weight in the interim, then it'll be troublesome deciding what to do next.
It's going be stressful seeing her constantly begging for food for a while, but hopefully it'll be OK.
