Moving Donald

shannon_aWell, Donald is now officially (mostly) moved. After gaming today, we spent a few hours filling a U-Haul with furniture and boxes. Afterward, the U-Haul headed south. I feel a little bad not going south to help unpack too, but I would have just had to have someone drive me all the way back north, and I wanted to spend at least a bit of time with Kimberly tonight. So, hopefully the rest of the guys have been able to unpack the truck without too much trouble.
I was quite gleeful to have my little magic swiss-army-knife of alan wrenches (which I got for my bike) come in very handy. Without it, neither a futon nor a laundry frame would have come apart.
Among the things boxed up was a full box of comics that I'd lent Mary and Donald (mostly Lucifer and Powers). I couldn't carry it home, so I asked Dave P. to drop it by my place on his way out, while I biked myself home.
As I was getting ready to go, I said, "I think you'll beat me there," and scoffing a bit, Dave, "I think so!" I was too tired to bike particularly quickly, but I made it to my house a few seconds before Dave P. There's just some nasty stop lights if you have to drive it, while my route was more direct and less stoppy.
Go biking, twice.
So our gaming place of the last several years is gone now. I don't recall when we stopped gaming at my place and started at Donald's, but he and Mary have been very kind hosts for a while. At least 5 or 6 years, because we started gaming there before Eric moved.
Over our next two gaming sessions we're going to try two alternative gaming places: one week at End Game and one week at my place. I think End Game is a bit closer for everyone from the South Bay (and that's everyone now, though Dave P. isn't very far south) and has more room for when we have a group of 9. Contrariwise, my place is more convenient for refreshments and storing stuff.
So, we'll make a decision on the first after trying both out. It's all good to me.
