A Short Ride Along BART

Went on a shorter ride today, because this was a ride with Kimberly. We'd been doing a bit of riding throughout the week, and today I talked her into going for a ride along the length of the Ohlone Greenway, which runs along BART from Berkeley past El Cerrito del Norte. We'd ridden it before when we lived in North Berkeley, but that was a long time ago.
There's a new little community park at the end, called the Gateway Park. We planned to eat lunch there.
The park isn't really much to see. The community has taken what used to be an overgrown dumping ground and turned it into a nice bunch of greenery, but it's all big foliage, not really grass and such, so it's a park to admire from a distance, not interact with.
There was a bench to eat lunch at, and we did, but unfortunately this also seems to be the place that the local homeless people come to smoke, as two different smokers came by while we were there. A pity that's not illegal in public places yet.
Anyway, a pleasant enough ride there and back. 12 or 13 miles total.
We also learned to our shock that the Target in El Cerrito is out of business. It's hard for retail to keep up in the world of the internet.
I'm planning my serious ride for the week for Tuesday, when I'm going to try and get far away from election coverage until (hopefully) things are decided.

It's now located on Macdonald west of the freeway about 2 blocks. Pity, since it really was the only Target on the BART line.
Plus I can't walk to it anymore.
