Anniversary

shannon_aToday was Kimberly's and my 8th anniversary. We were married eight years ago in the Faculty Club at UC Berkeley, in front of friends and family. There have been some real tough spots in these last eight years, but also lots of pleasant and loving companionship.
Tonight we went to La Med, a local Mediterranean restaurant, for a special dinner out. It's not particularly fancy, but it's a change from our usual eating-out fare, and thus nice. We're planning to go somewhere nicer in a few weeks when (hopefully) both she and I are feeling better.
As planned, we stopped by The Basic Bird while we were out to get Lucy the Barbarian a new collar. We got the same brand as the old one, but this one's red instead of blue. It reminds me of an old Superman comic where Superman got split in two, into Superman-Red and Superman-Blue. I keep waiting for Lucy's identical twin to walk around the corner.
