Stormbringer #20
Jun. 26th, 2006 12:41 pmI ran Stormbringer on Saturday.
I was in slightly uncharted lands, and I didn't really know what to run because we'd finished up the last big adventure two weeks before, and I didn't like the idea of immediately sending the players off the island again.
After some hemming and hawing, I eventually deciding to start a sequence of Menii-centered adventures, which means that I'll need to spend more time planning, but it helps reestablish the Purple Towns as the center of the campaign after quite a bit of time away.
Due to recent exposure to Queen & Country and Sandbaggers I was thinking about spies and espionage. This worked well with the players deciding to resurrect the Zombie Resistance they'd formed as a day-to-day information-gathering organization.
Hand-in-hand with that I had two dangling plot threads:
The end result was, much to my surprise, that the players decided to offer up 25% of the bar to Dedmon for payment and somewhat unspecified protection. He then told them that the local mob had found out the source of the firebombing, and had put out a hit on the bar. A brawl with incompetent arsonists finished off the day.
Not nearly as much I expected to cover (as you'll note, I never got to my plot point #2, about the alledgedly traitorous Nigel), but a good start for some Menii-based adventures.

- The players had blown up a strip club belonging to the local mafia
- The players had let a resistance fighter who they'd decided had betrayed the cause escape
