Injured Kimberly
Dec. 7th, 2005 10:36 amWell, I apparently spoke too early about the week improving, because when I roused Kimberly again in the late morning we learned that she'd hurt herself more than she'd thought when she fell down. She was in fact having quite a bit of shoulder pain every time she moved her left arm.
So I called up her doctor, and was pleased to be able to set up an appointment just two hours later. Kimberly recently choose a smaller practice and started going there last month. I was a little leery of their ability to set up appointments quickly when needed, but now I'm totally over that. They were much more responsive than the larger family practice that Kimberly had been going to before, and that I'm still registered with. And the benefit? It's about 4 blocks from our house. So I need to get my insurance transferred over to this new PCP physician too, and it'd probably be a good time for a checkup, mainly to make sure my blood pressure is still in order.
In any case, we got Kimberly to the doctor, and the doc gave her some anti-inflammatories and pain killers and said she thought she'd be OK in a week.
So, fingers crossed, but poor K. was definitely gimping around a lot last night.
Edit: And she just heard that she shouldn't actually take the anti-inflammatories. Sigh.
