Stormbringer #6
Jun. 11th, 2005 10:14 pmRan my sixth Stormbringer adventure today. It was a little short because the South Bay contingent didn't get up here till about 2pm and Dave P. had to leave at 5.30pm. Since I had to leave by 6.15pm, I decided to call it quits then, rather than running that last 45 minutes. Three and a half hours, however, isn't a tremendous amount of time for storytelling.
As usual, I overprepared. I made a few notes on a city they were travelling through, then I had an adventure I wrote years ago called The Restless Dead ready to go, then I had some sketched out notes for a second adventure which I thought would interweave with the first.
Typically, at least half the time was spent in that first city, where the players worked out a marketing cooperative with an inn there (them owning their own inn in a nearby city). Go figure. We got as far as the setup of my Restless Dead adventure, and that was it.
For the future, it looks like the players will probably polish off the whole RD adventure before going on to the next, but in any case I have the next week or two laid out, so things are good.
