Onward with the New Seeds

shannon_aWrote 1200 words this evening, finishing up my first Hero Band for the Elf book, The New Seeds. I like how they came out; they're a mobile elf forest who traipse about Dragon Pass. I had a few scant references to them that I wrote down a year or more ago, when I started a long writeup of the Vale of Flowers, but I'd never known who they really were before. Now the stuff I wrote before actually makes sense.
The total section was 1600 words, and I was surprised how long it took to write it all. A couple of hours, which is a bit slow for me, especially for non-mechanic-oriented text.
Next up, another Dragon Pass Hero Band, this one called The Unbalanced. I wrote about them previously in The Unspoken Word 2, but not in proper Hero Band form. Their presence should be a nice addition to this new work.
And then it's back to the magic system which I've circled around, and generally put off as the last thing to write in this book. I'll be tempted to go back and do all my editing first, but I should really do the magic system instead, as it'll probably lead to a few final revelations which I'll need to backtrack throughout the book.
