So-So Weekend
Apr. 18th, 2005 04:29 pmHad a pretty so-so weekend. Gaming on Saturday was fine, but after that everything else kind of jumbled together.
Kimberly's been severely depressed for weeks and was severely anxious for the last week or so, though the latter is abating. I try not to fall into her depression & anxiety, but sometimes that's difficult to avoid when you're living with someone. I also am fighting off a cold, I believe. Somehow between the one and the other the weekend was a bit bleh.
On the bright side, I did have things to distract me as I sat around and did not much this weekend. I'd just started Armistead Maupin's latest book, _The Night Listener_, which was great. A real weird, tiered look at truth and illusion, storytelling and reality. I also had just picked up two new computer games from Germany, the adaptations of Carcassonne and El Grande. They're both good, not great. Carcassonne is a little limited, especially when compared to more recent releases and to the game itself with supplements; the El Grande game on the other hand had kind of so-so AI. Nonetheless I enjoyed them.
Last night I started a review of the Carcassonne computer game because I don't have much else urgent on my review table right now.
