Kimberly ended up using her Christmas+Birthday money this weekend to buy a playstation2 w/Dance Dance Revolution. She'd tried it out at Katherine & Michael's house on Saturday, and thus was content she'd like it.

Thus, she and I spent about an hour each playing DDR yesterday. It's fun, but I'm also enthusiastic about it as a source of exercise, since we gave up our YMCA memberships a couple of months ago in order to balance our budget.

Today, while I was grabbing lunch and picking up Skotos mail, I also decided to spend part of my Birthday money (the Christmas money being long, long gone) to pick up one more mat for DDR and also a memory stick for the playstation so that any characters & songs we unlocked would actually be saved (and so that it wouldn't keep saying "That's a New Record!" after every single damned game).

Last night I also sat down and did the first cut of our taxes, now that I finally have TurboTax in hand. The good news is that my tax estimates were conservative (as I'd intended). I figured we were close to breakeven, but in actuality the government owes us several hundred dollars. Woohoo. That'll help our bank accounts which have been a bit shaky since we ran a deficit for the latter half of last year. And we'll use a little bit of that as crazy money too.

I need a K-1 from the family trust before I can finish. Uncle Bob has gotten them out pretty late every year since the trust was set up, but this will actually be the last time we have to wait, since my Grandmother's estate is closing out this year.

I should be done with taxes after I take another swipe at them, hopefully next weekend, and that'll be one less thing to worry about.
