I've been noticing for a couple of months now that the cats haven't been using their cat tree any more. It's been stuck back in the Junk Room, and pretty much no one ever goes there except to pick up a printout, and so they haven't been very interested in hanging out there either.

So, last week sometime I came up with the idea to move it down to the Living Room. I really don't know why it wasn't there originally. There was plenty of space in the northeast corner of the room. I think we might have put an end table there when we moved into the house, but that wasn't very important. In any case, I got the OK from Kimberly the other night, so today, after work, I began the trial of getting the cat tree down the stairs.

This is a big deal, I should note, because the cat tree is damned huge.

Now cats, they have a lot of sixth senses, but one of them appears to be the ability to figure out when their stuff is being fucked with. I started trying to haul the cat tree out of the Junk Room and within seconds there were two cats there, right on top of me. Cobweb in particular decided she had to climb in the cat tree.

The cat tree that she probably hadn't been inside in months.

By the time I got the cat tree to the top of the stairs, I decided I wanted Cobweb out. So, I had Kimberly call her. After a couple of minutes Cobweb finally couldn't resist the urge of the mommie-voice, so she hopped out.

For about 5 seconds.

Finally, Cobweb got out again, and then I started hauling the monstrosity down the stairs. At the first landing on our staircase I took a rest.

And there was Cobweb in the cat tree again.

I finally got her out until I got the cat tree down to the entryway, and then she was back inside; by that I time I gave up, and let her stay there. She rode the cat tree like a surfboard as I hauled it across the living room.

Finally, the cat tree was safely stored away in its new corner. I did a bit of repair work afterward, reattaching a post which had been broken off many, many years ago, and generally tightening screws and making things safer & more stable.

Then everything was back to normal.

I think the cats will like the new cat tree location. It's around people more, and it has views of two windows, including the garage top window which the cats never were able to see out of before.

Great pics! It is good that you are serving your cats well by providing them with greater opportunities to view the CatTV (known to us puny humans as "the outside").
