I read about this poor kitty and even posted about it. I also wonder what the cat did to its owner. It's scary that there are vets who do this as a cosmetic thing rather than just due to a medical condition.

It baffles me that people will do that sort of thing to a pet (the cut that is). But at least here in Oz de-clawing is illegal.

The cutest bit was when we discovered that the cat was *IN* the pillow case, not under it.
By then we were laughing so hard that Cobweb had to come out to investigate, and so we didn't get that pic.
