Having recently purchased an electric car (2019 Nissan Leaf), I'm beginning the task of looking at solar power as well. Our electricity tends to come pretty cheap, but being able to get at least some of it "free" is an appealing long-term prospect. Since we plan to age in place in this home, we have a long time to pay back the initial cost and hopefully see some of that benefit.
