I like the mechanics of Runebound quite a bit, and think is quite fun the first two hours, if played with no more than 3 players. I think some rebalancing of the victory conditions could fix this game. In the meantime, we'll just play til we're bored with it then call someone the winner.
I think AoS is greatly superior to Railroad Tycoon, to the point that I have no desire to ever play RT again. I did get to play AoS several times this year and am very happy about that since it is still one of my top 10 games of all time.
I keep wanting to get Struggle of Empires to the table but you really need at least 5 for it to shine, and we never have that at home. Maybe at Lone Star Game Fest this weekend?
Never tried Empires of the Ancient World. I suppose I should try to rectify that sometime.
I still like Tempus after many plays but Jason wasn't too keen, so not sure I'll get to play it much.
I really look forward to getting Steel Driver though, it's quick and simple, very un-Martinish but still very good.
