Crazy !Berkeley Driver
Jan. 18th, 2014 12:48 pmJust riding down Fulton, which is a very narrow street where I have to take up a lane ... but there's an additional lane to pass in. And a late-20ish lady comes up behind me, honking and tailgating me.
I stop, because I don't like her tailgating me, and she almost hits me because she was a lot closer than I thought (but it wouldn't have been a big deal at that speed). She sits in the car yelling at me to get out of the road. Another driver pulls up besides us, and asks if we're OK, and I'm somewhat surprised that he's asking *me* if I'm OK as opposed to crazy blonde behind me. I say, "Yeah, I think so, though the lady behind me is threatening me" and he says, "Yeah, I know."
Then the lady, and perhaps I should stop calling her that, leaps out of her car, runs at me and pushes me. And by "pushes" I mean she gives me a shove that wouldn't have knocked anyone over. Then she runs back to her car. And I'm like "What the hell!?"
Afterward she pulls into the left lane like she should have long before, but the other guy goes slow enough that she can't actually get ahead of me.
That's a dumb woman who isn't going to survive very long in Berkeley.
Thankfully, the bad driver was totally non-threatening, except for her ownership of a huge car/weapon, so I wasn't particularly shaken by the incident. Just non-plussed and confused.
And now off to my long-delayed lunch ...
