Finishing the Bathroom & Stuff
Oct. 16th, 2012 10:15 pmSo after a tiring Saturday, I took the day off from work Monday. We had painters coming to do the last work on our bathroom (painting!), but Kimberly was very kind to let me go out and get some relaxing time while she took care of it.
So I went to Wendy's for lunch (now open again!) then biked up to Lake Temescal, then up to the Shepherd Canyon Trail. Yep, my favorite Berkeley Hills stomping grounds nowadays. I read some comics while up there, but I also brought Playing the World with me, which I'll be using as a reference for Designers & Dragons. And, I finally finished it! (Though I still need to convert my notes into edits.)
Arriving home, I found that I got by far the better of the day. It seems that the painters first discovered a literal hole in our wall, hidden at the back of our linen closet, then had our toilet break, apparently due to rough treatment from our contractors while they were there.
Sigh. (Poor Kimberly.)
But a day later, the toilet is fixed, the painting is done, and the hole is repaired. Bathroom is pretty much done when the paint is dry. All's well that end well, though it sure killed my relaxed vibe when I got home yesterday.
In other news, Munchkin is really up and down. Limp and somewhat unresponsive last night and this morning, but eating and drinking lots tonight. Hard to know what's going on there, other than the fact that she apparently has good times and bad times.
We've hopefully got her out of the bathroom by moving her favorite bathroom rug to the sun room. Hopefully she'll be comfier and get a bit more human contact.
