So Kimberly has continued to be sick all weekend, sadly.

I also haven't been feeling my tip-top. I was pretty muzzy-headed Friday, and have been a bit weak today. Nothing compared to the huge sickness of my poor wife, though. I'm hoping I just have a light case of her plague, else I'm going to be getting much worse pretty soon.

I was at my best on Saturday. Though I wasn't willing to chance heading out to Endgame, or on a longer bike ride I'd been considering, I did go up to Codornices Park. It's less than 2 miles from our house, which always surprises me. With my new elevation app, I also discovered it runs from maybe 500 ft to 650 ft, bottom to top, so it's a little higher than Lake Temescal. And, there's indeed TWO blocks on the way to Codornices that I have trouble riding. Since I wasn't sure if I was sick or not, I just walked them, rather than tiring myself out.

Once up at Codornices, I walked up to a nearby waterfall. It's a really beautiful (though short) path up along the creek, then there's a really tranquil spot right around the waterfall. I just hung out there for a while and read Justice League of America: Omega which I had out from the library (and a good thing I had it out from the library, as it's sadly as mediocre as the rest of Robinson's JLA run), then I headed downtown for some errands before coming home.

The waterfall is on private land, but the owner allows passage. Everytime I go up there, I wonder if that's going to be revoked, but not so far. And, maybe it'll be OK now. The passage marked "Private Property" is a lot more forboding than it was 10 years ago, and I almost never see anyone on the trail, so hopefully there's not many people to abuse the privilege.

Today I was again considering a longer bike ride (before realizing how weak I was feeling), but as I was about to walk out the door, we got a long-awaited call from the appraise, for our endless refinance. Kimberly scheduled an appointment for tomorrow afternoon, so I instead decided to stay home and do some work on the yard.

It certainly wasn't strictly necessary, but I figured by cleaning up the most superficial things, we'd be giving the underwriter more reason to approve us. We had a lot of trouble last time we tried to refinance, and one of the sticking points was the facade of the house. I'm hoping that type of thing won't stand out as much without weeds and such (which they also complained about). We shall see.

And we have two nice trees out in our front strip now, surely increasing the value of our property according to our neighbor (and a nice new garage and deck since the last attempt at refinance).

Feel like I didn't get much accomplished this weekend, I guess other than the couple of hours of cleanup today,  but since I've been feeling so-so and went out a couple of times to pick up food and necessities for Kimberly and myself, maybe I didn't have to accomplish much.

Hopefully I'll be feeling better by the fourth and maybe do a longer bike ride. Crossing my fingers to not be feeling worse.
