Hawaii, Day the Fifth
Jan. 31st, 2010 10:49 pmSwimming. Very warm weather today, beautiful for swimming. The ocean is always pretty nice here, but it was really warm feeling today, thanks to the sun beating down on the water. You could feel a very notable difference between the water at the surface (warm!) and the water at the bottom (cold!) as a result.
The swimming was at Poipu, which was very crowded.
Churching. Dad and Mary are going to a new church today, which is in Koloa. It's the same pastor as the church they were going to last year, but it allows them to go in the evening (which better suits Mary's work schedule). The congregation is very small (about eight) and the church is pretty small too. All seemed like nice folks, and the pastor gave a sermon that I entirely agreed with (about how you have to not just pray, but get out and do something when you can).
Eating. More cookies, brownies, and tacos. Mm-mm. Hawaiian cuisine? Yes, when my dad lives here.
Gaming. Played three rounds of Mystery Rummy #4 tonight, apparently the first time I've played the poor game since 2004. My dad isn't a big fan of games, but he was willing to play. K. won. I was reminded that I like the game more with more than two players.
(As usual, overpacked games, with three others probably not being played at all during this trip.)
Tiring. Only 10.30 (12.30 California time, which I try to stay in sync with while in Hawaii), but I'm pretty tired out. Bed soon.
