Our new cat, Lucy (or Lucifer, if you prefer) is a maniac! Even for a kitten. Charge! Charge! Pounce! Pounce! Writhe! Writhe! Bite! Bite! Even the vet commented on her insanity yesterday.
The integration with the other cats goes slowly. After 4 days of isolation we tried out a limited visit today with Lucy in cat carrier. Cobweb went over and hissed and hissed while Munchkin just kind of stood back. Odd since Munchkin had been the hisser thus far.
We've thus backed off the next meeting until tomorrow, when we'll put the devil-cat in a laundry basket rather than the cat carrier, in case Cobweb was reacting to Lucy being in her territory.
All very tiring, and very stressful, mainly for worry that the old cats won't ever accept the new one.
I took the week off from work, and I've been working on the History Book instead. It's been editing all day, then writing all night for each of Monday and Tuesday, which is pretty exhausting too. I've now got three and a half pieces left to write before everything is first-drafted, and in the meantime I've done final-cut edits on the first six chapters of the book, with 46 to go, I suppose. However the 45,000 words I've covered thus far is a pretty good chunk of things: the histories get shorter as they go.
I laid out a schedule which I think should get me through the whole book by the end of July without any big travails, but I still have to worry about photos and other art pieces, which I fortunately have until the end of August to deal with.
