Another Mouse Bites the Dust
Dec. 31st, 2006 12:08 amFor the last week our cats have been working very hard stalking our current mouse guest. I've been looking up and seeing them crouched at the entrance to the kitchen or have walked into the kitchen and find them hiding out near the dishwasher.
Well, Kimberly and I got home from getting groceries today and found the cats chasing the mouse around the kitchen table. I didn't even realize they had it out at first, I just thought they were acting weird, but then the mouse ran over my foot and Munchkin started yowling at me. ("Get out of my way! The mouse is getting away!")
I yelled at Kimberly to grab me the "mouse cup" and with the cats cornering it again I was able to scoop the poor thing up. I then hauled it up to our nearest park, ironically just beyond the grocery store we'd just come from--and set the poor thing free.
It was remarkably nonchalant about the whole thing--cat chasing and cup carrying alike.
