Timeless Writing
Nov. 25th, 2006 09:37 pmI'm slowly starting to lose track of time over this Thanksgiving weekend. That's because I've been fairly endlessly writing. I've been writing before eating lunch, and I've been writing into the late evening, and I've also been writing a lot in between.
It's not been constant writing, mind you. I've been breaking it up with reading and watching TV. I've read Ultimate X-Men vol. 14, Y: The Last Man vol. 8, a well-intentioned by poorly executed urban fantasy called Something from the Nightside, the new RuneQuest Companion, and the very end of Glorantha: The Second Age. I've seen the end of Oz season 4 (which wasn't that great), and the start of The West Wing season 6 (which is fun), plus a variety of our normal programming.
But the writing has made the days blur one into another.
I've enjoyed much of it, as the more creative and background work is always fun, but there's also been some amount of game stats and some editing which has been less interesting. So far I think I've written about 10k, and I've got a fair amount left, which means I underestimated what I had left to do--perhaps not a big surprise because this book has many chapters that I've never looked at as a whole.
I'm still expecting to either finish things up or get remarkably close by tomorrow. I'm glad I set aside this long weekend to get things done.
And then it's on to editing, and this book will finally be done.
