Writing, AD&D1
Aug. 21st, 2006 11:31 amI got some, though not all, of my intended writing done this week.
First and most importantly was my next Knucklebones article, on commercial variants of traditional card games. I've been working on it on and off for five months due to a schedule rearrangement, and the draft was a bit unstructured as a result.
I wrote the rest of the article, redrafted what I'd already written, totally cut some sections, and am happy with the result. The downside? It's waayy over length: 3,500/2,000 words. I'd warned the editor about this beforehand, and asked which way she'd like me to approach it, and she said she'd prefer to see the full draft before I cut it, so she now has it in hand.
I'm expecting to cut it to heck next weekend, unless the editor offers my preferred response, that she'd like it split into two parts.
I also did my final draft of my history of Paizo Publishing, which has since been published at RPGnet. Paizo is a very young company, but by talking about the magazine business in general I think I offered some good points and kept the article interesting.
Things that I didn't write this weekend that are on my plate:
Also this week: the start of our new AD&D1 campaign. I remainly slightly skeptical about it, but when I expressed to the players on Saturday that they might be bored by running through dungeons, killing things, they laughed (Eric F. in general). So, we'll see.
T1 starts this coming Saturday.

- Some elf info for another upcoming HQ book.
- Final drafts of the Chaosium & Issaries histories.
- Continuing work on my ICE history.
- Reviews of Seismic & Hero Card Galaxy.
