Over the last few nights I managed to read most of the material I've written on elves over the years, and also to do a content pass of the 75% of the ElfBook that I have written. This is all a good thing, because it's the most work I've managed on that project since April, where all work suddenly stopped due to life getting complicated.

I liked most of what I'd written too, by the by, which is a great sign.

Yesterday I had lunch with Greg over at the unfortunately named Chinese restaurant, King Dong. We actually didn't talk about the project all that much.

Oh, there was a little bit of question about status, and some discussion about how we were going forward with it. I was a bit disturbed that he'd never actually received the ZIP file of everything that i put together for him a few months ago. (Not that it would have changed anything, mind you, but I'd just thought that he'd looked over everything and like it, because a note of its status went up on the HeroQuest web site shortly after our discussions.)

We talked much more about how things were going generally. I was interested in hearing about how Greg was feeling about being back in the states after his trip to Mexico and all the rest. It was very nice. I haven't talked to Greg that much since back when I worked at Chaosium, 7 years ago now. We said we should definitely do it again.

Greg's lived in Berkeley since shortly after his return from Mexico, sometime early this year. I said that it was really a surprise that we'd never run into each other, since we each live just a few blocks from downtown. He agreed.

Then, when we walking out of King Dong, and over to Kinko's we ran into [livejournal.com profile] kimberly_a (and a friend of hers) on the street. We mentioned how we'd just been discussing not running into each other on the street.

Then we walked into Kinko's and Greg's wife was there(!).

Quelle coincidence.

In any case, I'm hoping to push the ElfBook a little bit in December, but I'm not sure how much time I'm going to have with both Christmas & Hawaii looming. (I'm also reluctant to queue anything new up for reviewing right now because it feels like there's this huge chasm in the immediate future.)

I just need to do enough work now to keep my current momentum, and in January I hope to really let lose and maybe get this darned thing done(??).
