Life is slowly returning to normal after a crazy last week.

I did manage to get a review written this week, of the game China, an entirely fine board game.

For some reason the games I'm the most enthusiastic about seem to come out in the first half of the year, and then toward the last half of the year things seem to slow down. Last year led off with Ticket to Ride, Memoir '44, Tongiaki, and Oasis, all of which I was quite thrilled with. This year: In the Shadow of the Emperor, Ticket to Ride Europe, For Sale, and China.

This was the first notable review I've been able to write in the last three weeks. Last week I just reviewed a teeny, simplistic card game and the week before that a computer game.

I also wrote a TT&T article today that I'm pretty happy with, covering some legal issues having to do with online communities. I'll be posting it tomorrow, as usual.

Meanwhile, Kimberly has made it to her sessions three days in a row, and I'm quite happy and a little relieved about that. Every once in a while I wonder where this is leading, and if she'll be better off when she's done with them for a couple of months than she was before she started, but I just remember what I tell her when she frets, one day at a time. Tomorrow's just an illusion. Or a day away. Or something.

As might be expected this has thrown a huge wrench into our normal routine as Kimberly is ultimately exhausted and/or wanting more time to spend by herself and decompress when she gets home each day. And I'm getting up earlier, working earlier, and going to bed earlier.

But that's all a very small price to pay if it actually makes things better.

Sometimes when I think about going to EndGame I think that I shouldn't bring any games, to totally take away any responsibility from myself, one of the things that's actually appealing about the EndGame sessions. But then I often have games that I really want to play too, and I hate the thought of ending up there and having nothing to play.

I'm going to probably go tonight, as I've barely been out of the house in the last few days. And if the next few days are indeed busy, so be it.
