Writing & Reading
Sep. 16th, 2004 11:46 amYesterday was, as usual on Wednesday, a writing day:
I still had all the windows open, which I often do on hot days, which yesterday definitely was. It's a rare luxury, because I have to keep the door closed to keep the cats out so that they won't leap out windows to their deaths.
So, around midnight or so, I snuggled down into the love seat in the sun room, with the windows open to the night beyond, cold air lightly breezing through the room, and I read.
It was entirely pleasant.
(Books read: a bit more of A Game of Thrones, which I've been rereading for about 3 weeks now and The Path of the Damned, Part 3, a peculiar little Glorantha comic book, which I enjoyed, but might have actually made sense if I'd read the first two parts. But I'm not entirely convinced of that.)
- TT&T Article on Bluff: First off, I wrote up my new TT&T game design article for Skotos. This time around it was an overview about bluffing. I'm happy with the article, as I have been with all of my strategy overview articles. Unfortunately, like most of them, it took a fair amount of time to put together too. It'll show up on the skotos_articles feed later today, as soon as I edit and post. (2500 words)
- Final Pass on MMPGems: Next, I made my final edit on my MMPGems article. I incorporated in two sets of peer review comments, then did a final read through and touch up. This was all a couple of days later than I should have finished things up, but I kind of lost track of time waiting for peer reviews. I spent a good chunk of time doing 5 peer reviews, as I was supposed to, and I got 2 back. Very annoying. In any case, I got mail back from the editor this morning affirming that I was indeed all done.
- Aldryami Writing: Unfortunately, that didn't leave me much time to work on my Aldryami book for Issaries. Instead I did an edit through three sections of the book that are consecutive, but were written at very non-consecutive times. Overall, I think they fit together fine, but I would have preferred to have pushed forward with some new text.
