Writing: Lovecraft & MMGs
Jul. 14th, 2004 06:00 pmAnother Wednesday of writing. I pretty much accomplished my goals, and it was a busy day of writing:
Total count for the day is about 7000 words which is entirely acceptable, and actually a lot of writing.
The goal for next week: complete drafts of the MM article and the LC script, each to be polished the week after. In the meantime I'd love to get a bit of time some evening to work on elves, just so I don't lose momentum on that project while working on these others with tighter deadlines.
- 10 pages of Lovecraft Country comic script. This is the first half of the comic for Lovecraft Country @ Skotos. It's not my favorite creative work, but I think it's coming along OK, and given it's my first truly creative work in a long time, that's a good thing.
- Half of Massively Multiplayer Article. I also wrote half of an article (~4,200 words) about "Telling Stories in Online Games", which is for an upcoming book on Massively Multiplayer Game Design. I finished my introduction and sections on setting and character, then wrote the first half of the section on plot. I thought it came out fairly well, but this is a lot of stuff that I've been pushing around in my head for years, so I know it backward and upside down.
- Elf Book. Had a bit of a discussion with Steve about some issues regarding the elf book for HeroQuest. Got some new notes, and a promise for a counter to my table of contents proposal by the end of the week, but no new prose.
