Just watched an incredibly painful episode of Homicide: Life on the Streets called "A Doll's Eye". It was very touching; I was crying through most of it.
Homicide is (was) a brilliant, brilliant show. Everytime I see it I'm newly impressed. It's at least as good as the cable shows which having been getting raves over the last several years (The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, etc). If you like police shows at all, go rent the DVDs. The first four seasons are out.
