You see, he modified Blaster to keep a back door open into sites that it attacked so that he could spy on victims, rip off their financial records, etc. The helpful virus told him which machines he could access ...

With his home address.
That it took the authorities this long to track him down makes them look as intelligent as ... well ... this knuckle-headed 18-year-old kid was.
