Prostitutegate

Now, let's say you were a lobbyist, and let's say you were providing prostitutes for U.S. Congressmen and other high-up government officials in party suites at local area hotels.

Wouldn't some sense of superstitious irony keep you from doing so at The Watergate Hotel?

Apparently not.

And isn't it really sad when the investigators only real question is, where the prostitutes came from:

"Federal investigators are trying to determine whether Cunningham and other legislators brought prostitutes to the hotels or prostitutes were provided for them there, according to a report in yesterday's Wall Street Journal and confirmed by the Union-Tribune."

Draft!

I have a complete draft of the "Elf Woods" article for the upcoming World of Glorantha book. I'm generally pleased with it, and think I hit all the necessary points, though as I said before I'm a bit concerned about how all the racial sections will mesh because the organizational formats didn't really work for these.

I think one more editorial pass will do it, including some rewriting of the events because I don't think I have them quite in standard style. After that the section can go off.

Which is good because it's due on Sunday.

In other writing news I made great progress on Lovecraft Country #2 this week. I did some work on Wednesday, then followed up more on Thursday and Friday. I've had various troubles getting the book started, because I'd never really planned for a sequel to #1, but after one false start (which has been entirely discarded) and one stumbling start (which ended up part of this current draft), I now have 12 pages of my 20 page story.

The story has gone slightly off my original outline, so I need to get the last 8 pages re-oriented, but then I should be able to finish it up.

I'm planning on spending next Wednesday hopefully bringing it to completion.

Which is good because Chris wants to take the draft to World Horror Con in a week and a half.

I'm soon going to redo the cover for Lovecraft Country #1 and then do a cover for #2. I'm hoping to come up with a more appropriate looking logo, rather than leaning on the computer game logo which isn't really in the right aspect ratio for a comic. And, I need to set my covers up so that they're more appropriate for an ongoing comic; again, #1 was intended to be a standalone.

And I *think* I can do #2 myself without needing an outside artist, but we'll see how the concept in my head works out.

That may be next week.

After I finish with Glorantha I'll be able to get onto my next writing project. It's an article on Bruno Faidutti for Knucklebones. It's not due until July 1st, but I'd like to get it in no later than the end of May so that the editor can offer any comments on things that might need to change to match their mag's style.

And I've got a great idea for a next article which could be a multiparter for Knucklebones or Gone Gaming. It's going to be long, yet interesting. I'm going to go ahead and write it first, and then see if I can get it published somewhere professionally.
