Wood Filling Harder than Expected.
Well, first of all I don't think I'd quite appreciated the scope of the amount of filling I needed to do. There was a lot of it. Second, I didn't realize quite how tricky it was to fill bigger holes and cracks. The wood filler likes to stick, which means if there's enough it sticks to itself. I did get better at figuring out how to manage it as I worked today. But I was still at it for another hour and a half.
The end result is that everything got filled and then sanded back down afterward. I was a bit worried with how things looked when there was just wood filler splattered all over, but once it was sanded back down it looked good.
However, some of the places never got filled right. So, tomorrow I need to make sure my surface is clean from the latest sanding and then take a second shot at filling, which will require more sanding at the end of the day.
Which probably means it'll be Wednesday before I do any priming. Ah well.
