Barry Windsor-Smith

Wow, Shannon!

Marvel's series on Conan was the book that started me off collecting comic in the 70ies. I used to have a complete set, all bought by me when they were new on the stand. You're bringing back a big time positive memory here for me.

This series, also as I understand it, is very important for the role it played in the comic code. He was an in code hero who didn't hesitate to kill, I've heard more than one writer point to this series as the beginning of the end for the code.

But the real value, the most important thing about Marvel's Conan, is the art. It's by and far the best ever! Bar none. Barry Windsor-Smith is, was, and will always be the best. This is not my opinion; this is like gravity, a simple fact. No doubt, the Pope has even spoken infallibly on this issue.

Thanks for the memory, maybe I'll have to check these out for old times sake.
