Wireless Cards

I've grown to slowly hate wireless devices.

Thus far our dead count is: 1 Airport hub, 2 Airport cards, 1 USB wireless device, 1 PCI wireless device. And now it looks like my newest PC card is going flaky too. It's getting harder and harder to stay connected.

What the heck do they make these things out of? Chewing gum and tinfoil?

It's possible that static is responsible. I took a tech support class a few years ago and it was discussed that damage to electronics from static is cumulative and can be cause by much less (voltage, amperage?) than it takes to "feel" a shock.
